Hope Creek Newsletter – January 2023
SUCCESSFUL HOLIDAY FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS!
Thanks to our 300+ volunteers and generous financial donors. This year, we were able to purchase 30,000 pounds of meat, and over 55,600 pounds of produce. These volunteers organized, packed, and successfully distributed to our community members in need. The Mill Creek Community Food Bank kept with tradition, and hosted 2 separate food distributions, serving 1,300 families in November, and roughly 1,500 families in December. These mass distributions are only successful through the work of our diligent volunteers, and generous financial donors.
“POP UP” FOOD DRIVES
We have many partners here in Mill Creek that host yearly food drives to support the food bank. We appreciate all their efforts to keep our shelves stocked! Coming soon to our website, youʼll be able to find a comprehensive and updated list of “pop up” food drives happening around our community!
JANUARY EVENTS
January 16: MLK day volunteer day! We have a large tent going up (to keep you and our food operations dry), as well as new decking to finish installing! Find a time on our sign up genius site to come serve with us!
Everyday Operations: We are sorting and preparing recent non-perishable donations for distribution.
